Work Completed on New Road

Members of the Elrod Cemetery community are proud to announce the opening of a new road into the cemetery. Built in response to a significant increase in traffic on Burgess Falls Road (State Highway 135), the new road provides a second, safer entrance and exit to the cemetery with far better visibility to traffic approaching over nearby hills. The project was completed within the budget approved at the 2022 Decoration Day. Just over half of that total has already been funded by donations earmarked especially for the project. Land for the new road was donated by Fred and Linda Gilliam. The original entrance to Elrod Cemetery will remain open.
